Can you see the vinca? There are about 200 new vinca plants beginning to take hold on this hillside. A few of the original plants did not survive being transplanted, but most of the little guys struggle on. This weekend, I added a few additional plants, because I'm hoping things will fill out a little more in the next few months. So far, I've been able to keep up with the weeds in this plot. I think this is because we used black plastic to kill the grass the grew on the hillside, and during the months the plastic was on the hill, it cooked the weed seeds, too.
